Making films like online - just without the online.
Two videos side by side, a photo next to them, confetti on top, an emoji over Grandma's face and a spoken comment: Clippimo is the collage app for children aged 7 to 13. The film is made on the iPhone or iPad - and stays there until the child shares it.
For iPhone and iPad · ages 7 to 13 · planned for the App Store
No networking code. The app cannot send anything - not because it chooses not to, but because it has no way to.
No access to your photos. The system picker hands over only the one video the child taps.
Faces stay at home. Faces are found on the device; what is stored are rectangles, not pictures.
How a film is made
Stage, frames, magic.
Three words a child knows after the first film. The stage is the film, exactly as it will look in the end. On the stage sit frames, in each frame a row of clips. Over everything, the magic.
1 · Split the stage
One frame, two side by side, four at once - seven layouts, each a small picture to tap. Plus a free inset as a circle or rectangle that can be dragged anywhere.
2 · Fill the frames
A video or photo from Photos, many photos as stop motion, a text card - or film right away. With „Reaction", the film plays from the start while the front camera records the child in a circle next to it.
3 · Add magic
An assistant asks in turn: What? Which one? On what? When? Then „Create" - and it plays on the stage right away. Stickers, effects, text, hiding faces, filters, morph: all on the same path.
4 · Export and share
„Export" turns all of it into one film. It lands in Photos or goes to Grandma through the system share sheet - by message, by mail, the way the family shares anything else.
What is inside
What the child sees is the film that comes out.
Preview and export run through the same compositor. There is no surprise after exporting - what plays on the stage is what ends up in Photos.
Cutting clips
Trim with two handles, fill or fit, zoom in on a point, slow motion up to triple speed, fade in and out. Transitions between two clips: crossfade, wipe, zoom, flash - and with distortion: wave, swirl, dissolve, morph.
30 stickers, 8 effects
Stickers to drag, resize and rotate - and to move: bounce, spin, pulse, wobble and six more. Confetti, fireworks and friends cover the whole stage or just one frame.
Hiding faces
An emoji or pixels over every face in the film - and it follows when the head moves. That is fun, and nobody has to be seen who does not want to.
Morph
From Grandma's face into the dog's: the child taps the nose on the left, the nose on the right, up to five pairs of points - and the pictures flow into each other.
Text cards
Text on a colour or gradient, as a clip of its own. Standing, scrolling, page by page - or along a path the child draws on the card with a finger.
Sound
Record a comment while the film plays. Music from the device's own library, as long as it is free of copy protection. Volume per frame - Grandma quiet, dog loud.
Five looks
Comic, retro, neon, black and white, dream - for the whole film or one frame. Every look is a layer in the timeline and can be taken off again there.
Stop motion
Up to 60 photos at once, an eighth of a second each: the Lego car drives, the teddy waves.
The timeline
A film strip, not a list of tracks.
At the top the film itself runs as a film strip with a thumbnail per second. Below it lie the layers: confetti, sticker, comment, look - as white bars where they take effect. Tap one and it becomes a magnifier with big handles; moving, shortening and deleting happen right there.
Handles snap to half seconds with a short tap of feedback. And if something goes wrong: „Undo" takes back up to 30 steps, including a deleted clip.
For parents
No account, no feed, no chat.
Clippimo is a tool, not a platform. There is nothing to subscribe to, nobody to follow and no place where a film ends up without the child passing it on.
Sharing means the share sheet
A finished film is a video file in Photos. From there it takes the route you take anyway - iMessage, WhatsApp, mail. The app itself has no address it could send anything to.
Your own music, no charts
Music comes from the library on the device, if it is free of copy protection. No streaming, no songs from the net - that is a decision, not a gap.
A guide inside the app
Under Settings every tool is explained in children's words, and on first launch a tour shows the four steps. It can be brought back there any time.
Credits with a name
Enter a name in Settings and every film ends with „Ein Film von …" (a film by). The name stays on the device; it only appears in the film.
Accessible
For hands that are still small.
Every button is at least 44 points, every choice gives a short tap of feedback, and every gesture has a second way: a child who does not want to drag a clip onto a frame picks it with „From clips". Whatever a child records without knowing where it goes waits in the tray - marked „not placed yet" in orange.
In landscape the stage moves to the left and the tools to the right edge, under the thumb. The same on iPad.
Privacy
What Clippimo does not do
A film by children shows children. Everything else follows from that - in how the app is built, not in a text.
No networking code
The app contains not a single line that could send anything. No statistics, no crash reporting, no server.
No account
Nothing to create, nothing to forget, nothing that would need an e-mail address.
No photo library
Clippimo never asks for access to all your photos. The system picker shows the library, and the app receives only what the child taps. Saving to Photos is an add-only permission.
Faces on the device
Detection runs with Apple's Vision, offline. What is stored is where a face was - as a rectangle, not as a picture.
No ads, no tracking
No analytics, no identifiers, no third parties. No outbound links and no social media buttons either.
Delete means delete
A deleted film is gone with its files. Settings show how much space the films take - and a button that removes everything.
Price
Buy once, no subscription.
Clippimo is free, and every film then carries a small „Clippimo" in the corner. „Clippimo Voll" (the full version) removes the watermark - one purchase, for the whole family, no subscription. The price is not set yet.
Language and status
In preparation - and German inside
The app itself speaks German. Its tools, its guide and its first-launch tour are written for German children. This page is in English so you can tell whether the app is for you - it does not promise an English interface.
Clippimo runs on iPhone and iPad and is being tested. The screenshots on this page will follow once the interface has settled.
